Organization

Fifty years ago when Massachusetts first passed a collective bargaining law for public employees, the Boston Association of School Administrators and Supervisors (BASAS) was formed. BASAS is now Local 6 A.F.S.A., (American Federation of School Administrators).

BASAS currently represents Boston Public School administrators. BASAS job titles include but are not limited to: Assistant Headmaster, Assistant Principal, Director of Instruction, Program Director, Coordinator.

Our members have been selected for their ability and experience to lead the schools, develop curriculum, and evaluate staff. They are the key components in the effort to improve the Boston Public Schools.
